Line up Henderson's November and December event calendars by day of the week and two schedules show up. Almost every holiday event at The District at Green Valley Ranch lands on a Saturday. Water Street's big moment is WinterFest, which runs Thursday and Friday, Dec. 3 and 4. For a household in MacDonald Highlands, the season comes down to which of those two schedules you plan around and on which nights.
This year Water Street also has new places to stay out after the parade. A three-story coffee house opened on South Water Street in the spring, and a cocktail bar opened on its second floor in late summer. Both WinterFest nights fall on evenings that bar is open. Last December, neither place existed.
The Saturdays Belong to The District
The District's calendar starts on a Sunday and then settles into Saturdays. Here is the run as posted on its event pages, in order:
- Sunday, Nov. 8: Market in the Alley on The Green, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov. 12: The Light the World Giving Machines arrive near Pottery Barn and stay through Jan. 1, 2027.
- Saturday, Nov. 14: Makers Hive market.
- Saturday, Nov. 21: Annual Tree Lighting on Main Street, 5 to 8 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 28: Makers Hive market.
- Saturday, Dec. 5: Second Time Around vintage market.
- Thursday, Dec. 10: Toys for Tots, 5 to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec. 12: Market in the Alley returns, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec. 19: Makers Hive market.
From Nov. 14 through Dec. 19, every Saturday has something on. Most of these events run in daylight. The Annual Tree Lighting is the evening event The District builds the season around. The District's listing promises snowfall, a meet and greet with the Snow Prince and Princess and Snow Angels, live holiday music, sweet treats and a Makers Hive Market. Santa lights the tree at the end. The page links to an RSVP.
The other evening event is Toys for Tots on Thursday, Dec. 10, the only weeknight on The District's holiday calendar. The District lists live music, Santa photos, UNLV Rebel Hockey, members of the Marine Corps and a toy-donation offer. Apart from those two evenings, The District's holiday season is something you plan around a Saturday morning.
Water Street Takes Two Weeknights
The City of Henderson runs its season the other way. Everything is packed into two consecutive nights, and those nights are not on a weekend. The city's WinterFest page lists WinterFest 2026 for Dec. 3 and 4. On the calendar that is Thursday and Friday, the week after Thanksgiving.
The format is two nights, each with its own event. Night one is the Tree Lighting Ceremony and Drone Show. Night two is the Electric Light Parade. The city calls WinterFest a free event and the start of a month of holiday celebrations, held around the Water Street District. The city hasn't published start times for 2026 yet, and the page tells visitors to check back. The times and performers still shown lower on the page are from the 2025 event, so plan on the 2026 schedule changing.
That puts Henderson's two tree lightings almost two weeks apart. The District lights its tree on Saturday, Nov. 21. Water Street lights its tree on Thursday, Dec. 3. They don't compete for the same evening, so a household can go to both without choosing.
What's Open After the Parade
The newest places to stay out late on Water Street share one address, 37 S. Water St.
The Coffee Class, owned by Kyle Cunningham, opened a three-story flagship there in spring 2026. The building has a coffee house, bakery and café on the ground floor, a cocktail and whiskey bar on the second floor, and a rooftop third floor planned for weekend brunch, seasonal gatherings and private events. The Review-Journal's Neon reported that the flagship is Cunningham's sixth coffee house in the valley across his Coffee Class and Almond & Oat brands. In August, the rooftop was hosting events and brunch hadn't started. Neon reported that the heat might require more buildout first. When Las Vegas Weekly checked in early September, Cunningham was still working on turning the rooftop into a brunch area.
The second-floor bar, Terminal 4, is open. Las Vegas Weekly reported in its Sept. 3 story that Cunningham had recently opened it, and an OpenTable diner review dated Aug. 21 shows it was serving by late August. Cunningham's announcement, as quoted in Neon, said the bar draws on the speakeasies that have made Mexico City a major cocktail destination. The name comes from a local joke he explained to Neon:
"Harry Reid International Airport only has a Terminal 1 and a Terminal 3. Terminal 2 was retired years ago, and Terminal 4 has never existed, so Las Vegas has a gap where a fourth terminal should be. We decided to build it ourselves."
Terminal 4's hours are why it matters for WinterFest. OpenTable lists Thursday and Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. Both WinterFest nights fall within those hours. Hours can change heading into the holidays, so check before you go.
Down the street, Better Buzz opened in June at the corner of Water Street and Lake Mead Parkway, according to Las Vegas Weekly. Its story asked whether Henderson's downtown is finally growing a coffee scene. With two coffee openings in 2026 and a bar upstairs from one of them, Water Street goes into December with more choices before and after the events than it had a year ago.
The Weeks Between Belong to the Terrace
The two calendars leave gaps on weeknights at The District and on every night except Dec. 3 and 4 on Water Street. Green Valley Ranch's seasonal pop-up fills those evenings. Winter at the Terrace is an outdoor lounge on The Backyard Terrace with fireside seating, cocktails and light bites. It is 21 and over. The resort's page lists a Nov. 27 to Dec. 27 run, 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The page doesn't put a year next to those dates, so confirm when you book. Reservations open Nov. 1 at 702-617-7744, and large parties go through 702-617-6800.
If those dates hold for 2026, the lounge opens the Friday after Thanksgiving. That is six days after The District's tree lighting and six days before WinterFest, so it covers the stretch between Henderson's two biggest holiday nights.
Halloween Weekend Comes First
Halloween weekend is the last stop before either calendar begins. At Sunset Station, Stoney's Sunset opened on Saturday, Aug. 15, according to 8 News Now. It is a 19,000-square-foot country bar and entertainment venue with a live stage, a mechanical bull, a dance floor and two full-service bars. Its Sunset Station listing has a Margs & Monsters tasting on Friday, Oct. 30, from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a Halloween costume party starting at 7.
The Piece That Waits Until Next Year
One project won't be ready this season. The Cliff is an office complex at 2500–2550 Paseo Verde Parkway being converted to dining and retail, and its signed tenants include The Taco Stand, Killer Whale Creamery, Arhaus, Visual Comfort, BODYROK, Lyte House, Pvolve and The Barista Botanist. Earlier reports pointed to a late-2026 opening. The project's own site now says it delivers in 2027. The Review-Journal reported on Sept. 30 that construction has started and tenant spaces are expected to be handed over in the second quarter of 2027. The roster in FOX5's December 2025 tenant announcement differs from the one on the project's site today, so treat it as subject to change.
Inside the gates, the Four Seasons Private Residences Las Vegas towers have both topped out, and exterior glass is going in. Multi-Housing News reported on Oct. 12 that delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027, with a Wolfgang Puck Signature Restaurant & Lounge among the planned amenities.
